Inclusion
At Langtons Infant School and Nursery we strive to create a happy, caring community where everyone feels valued and secure. We celebrate the progress and achievements of every child and recognise that success looks different for different learners.
We promote positive learning experiences for children with SEND by:
-
Ensuring children feel a valued part of the school and wider community
-
Providing a safe, calm and supportive environment
-
Using a wide range of teaching approaches and strategies to support personalised learning
-
Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience, while ensuring children receive the right level of adult support
-
Identifying needs early and responding promptly with effective strategies and interventions
-
Supporting children to communicate their needs and preferences, particularly during transitions
-
Working in partnership with parents/carers through regular communication and shared planning
-
Making effective use of specialist services and professional advice where appropriate
We also provide pastoral support for children who may need help with emotional wellbeing, social development or behaviour. Support may be delivered through individual or small group sessions, always tailored to the needs of the child.
