Regulations regarding infectious diseases

Absences - please remember to always contact the office either by email (office@langtons-inf.havering.sch.uk) or by leaving a message on our absence line (telephone 01708 447 866) by 9am on the first day of your child’s absence.  When leaving a message on the answerphone please clearly state your child’s name, class and the specific reason for their absence.  If your child is unwell, please specify whether this is because they have a cold, a temperature or are feeling sick, etc.

It is our duty to make contact with every parent whose child is absent to check that everything is ok and the family are not in an emergency situation needing assistance.

If we cannot make contact, we may make a home visit to make sure everyone is ok.

Diarrhoea and Vomiting

When children have diarrhoea/vomiting only once and then fine, they can return after 24 hours from the time they had the episode.

When children have diarrhoea/vomiting more than once, they need to stay off school for 48 hours after the last time they had an episode.
